Creatives made the inaugural Diner en Blanc - Sacramento magical

Thank you for joining us at the inaugural Diner En Blanc Sacramento.  One of the most unforgettable evenings Sacramento has ever seen was made even more memorable and beautiful by the contributions of several acclaimed local fine artists, musicians and entertainers.

We would like to thank the musical acts Garrett Perkins on Saxaphone, The Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera Madroña Trio and Pamela Perkins on Harp.  Our beautiful and high-tech decor (befitting our cutting edge arena) were provided by technologist Christopher Biddle and fine artist Trent Dean.  Live plain-air painting by Ghanim Al Obaidi gave an air of French elegance to our proceedings.  Lastly the dance floor was rocking from open to close thanks to the amazing music provided by DJ Rock Bottom.

Artists will continue to play a huge role in our Sacramento edition of Diner En Blanc, and we are so grateful to the brilliant creatives who made this inaugural event so magical. Please read below to find out more about the highlighted performers and get in touch with those you’d like to see again  …  or better yet, to bring to your next high-profile event.

Bio:  From a long line of great saxophonists, the likes of Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane comes a musical genius with all of the brashness of “Bird” and the contemporary sound of Gerald Albright. Garrett Perkins considered a child protégé at the age of 14 has evolved into one of the finest saxophonists this country has seen in a long time.

Garrett was born in 1974 in Sacramento, California. At an early age he was destined to be a musician. While working under the careful watch of award winning music director Ike Padgett, Garrett quickly became proficient in playing several musical instruments. He fell in love with the saxophone and has been playing it ever since.

Upon graduating from the famed Berklee School of Music in Boston, Garrett travelled the world playing concert venues the likes of the Jamaican Jazz Festival, Venice (Italy) Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival as well as many other European concerts.
Garrett’s true desire to be a jazz saxophonist was realized in 2003 when he wrote and produced his first solo album entitled “Can you Hear Me”. He followed the album with the formation of his group called The Garrett Perkins Project which was formed with the purpose of bringing back the history of jazz as an art form that is educational as well as entertaining. He considers himself a “musical purist” that is driven by creating music as an art for people to enjoy. Garrett is currently in the studio completing his fourth album entitled “Sax in the City” which is now for sell via garrettperkins.net.
